Hello! I'm Meg and I am the founder of VetMEDucation. I started my career in veterinary medicine in 2004 with my first job at a specialty veterinary hospital. I became a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) and found myself drawn to learning all about providing the best possible anesthesia care for small animal veterinary patients, as well as providing care to those patients experiencing emergent and critical illness.

I went on to pursue one of my passions through the challenging process of applying to the Academy of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Technicians and Nurses (AVECCTN). My application was accepted and I went on to sit for the AVECCTN examination. I am very thankful to say I passed this rigorous exam and became a Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS) in Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) in 2017.

My interest in sharing my knowledge with other veterinary professionals began quite early on in my career as a CVT. My passion for teaching others
has only grown from here and in April 2018 I decided to start a platform that would allow me to share my enthusiasm for veterinary medicine with those I might not otherwise meet.

In 2024 I realized a career long goal of becoming a VTS in Anesthesia & Analgesia after completing the challenging application and examination process with the Academy of Veterinary Technicians in Anesthesia and Analgesia (AVTAA). Providing high-quality Anesthesia and Analgesia for the patients in my care has been my passion for 16 years and I am beyond excited to continue to share my passion and knowledge with others.

The MED in VetMEDucation is inspired by my initials. I look forward to seeing where this learning and teaching journey will take me next, but no matter what I truly believe that we as VetMED professionals must never stop learning.
